Brewing Up an Upset as Milwaukee Stuns the Dodgers in Postseason Opener

October 13, 2026 2 min read

Many expected the Los Angeles Dodgers to simply stroll into Milwaukee and dominate with their star studded roster and massive payroll, but the Brewers had other plans for Game 1 of the NLCS. In a tightly contested battle that felt every bit like October baseball, Milwaukee proved they could handle the pressure of the big stage, securing a gritty 2-1 victory. While the Dodgers brought plenty of talent to American Family Field, it was the hometown grit that prevailed in a game where every pitch mattered.

The victory was built on a strong foundation starting with ace Jacob Misiorowski, who held his own on the mound. Misiorowski surrendered only one run across four and a third innings, providing a stable start that allowed the Brewers to stay within striking distance. From there, the bullpen stepped up to shut the door, maintaining a slim lead until the final out was recorded in the ninth inning. It wasn’t a blowout, but in the postseason, scoring more than your opponent is all that matters.

Adding to the electricity of the evening was the presence of Amy Williams, affectionately known to fans everywhere as Front Row Amy. Positioned in her usual spot behind home plate, Williams became once again a focal point of the atmosphere as she cheered her team toward victory. Her energy mirrored that of the crowd and players alike, serving as a reminder that while stars win games, passion fuels championships. As she went viral throughout the night, it was clear that neither she nor her team were intimidated by the magnitude of the moment.

Despite the early success, Milwaukee knows they cannot afford any complacency moving forward. The Dodgers are back to back World Series champions for a reason and possess an offense capable of exploding at any second. To advance further into October, the Brewers must maintain this level of intensity through every single frame of Game 2. For now though, Milwaukee can celebrate a statement win that proves they are far from being victims of another sweep.
